Discover How I Overcame Depression and Anxiety After Leaving a Psychologically Abusive Relationship

Embark on a transformative journey from emotional breakdown to empowerment. Learn actionable steps including accountability, spiritual grounding, support systems, dietary changes, exercise, and the therapeutic potential of mushrooms.

In the depths of my emotional turmoil, I made a crucial realisation—I am accountable for my life's trajectory. No one else holds the power to save me; it's a responsibility I must shoulder alone. This pivotal insight propelled me towards a path of healing and self-discovery (Frankl, 1984; Park et al., 2010; Dornbusch et al., 2023). My spiritual beliefs became my anchor, emphasising that I create my reality and hold the divine essence within. Viktor Frankl and Carl Jung's philosophies on spiritual meaning resonated deeply, guiding me to choose my responses to life's challenges consciously (Jung, 1967; Puchalska et al., 2022; Rasic et al., 2021).

Seeking solace, I turned to my support system, leaning on friends, family, and therapy (Cohen & Wills, 1985; House et al., 1988; Huang et al., 2021).

Acknowledging the detrimental impact of sugar on mental health, I made significant dietary changes, eliminating it completely. Scientific research underscores the addictive nature of sugar and its role in mood swings, compelling me to prioritise nutritional balance (Avena et al., 2008; Lustig et al., 2013; Park & Chung, 2022).

Exercise emerged as a non-negotiable aspect of my routine, fostering physical and mental well-being. Delving into meta-research, I discovered the profound impact of exercise on alleviating depression and anxiety, strengthening my resolve to commit to regular workouts (Schuch et al., 2019; Stanton et al., 2013; Wang et al., 2023).

Exploring the therapeutic potential of mushrooms, particularly lion's mane and cordyceps, offered new avenues for healing. Peer-reviewed studies highlight their benefits in enhancing cognitive function, bolstering cardiovascular health, and fostering emotional well-being (Ghosh et al., 2015; Li et al., 2018; Zhang et al., 2021). However, it was magic mushrooms that catalysed my journey towards profound inner transformation, surpassing the efficacy of conventional therapy (Carhart-Harris et al., 2016; Griffiths et al., 2006; Johnson et al., 2023).

Remember: You need to WANT TO change and make the effort to (new CONSISTENT habits, ACTIONS, and WORDS). Be mindful of what you keep saying and reaffirming negatively with self-talk and thoughts. Raise your awareness with your patterns of thoughts through coaching or CBT therapy. Do what is necessary for your body, mind (and with mushrooms…also the spirit is included in that mix). Even if you are an atheist, you’ll see the change. Micro-dosing mushrooms for two months after or so (short term) can also help create new neural connections and assist neurogenesis. Taking it with Lion's Mane will strengthen the connections.
